PostSubject: To Provoke or not to Provoke   Sat Sep 12, 2009 7:22 pm

Okay, I have heard many different reasons for why provoking is good and also for why provoking is bad. Most times when people talk about it they tend to be nice until the person that disagrees leaves then they state their own opinion. I want to get everybody's personal opinion and lay it all out! Again as we have stated for other reason, no one can truly know for sure how to ghost hunt, but lets share what we think works for us and the reasons we believe.

I will go first. I believe it depends on the situation. I will provoke but it will be for a reason. If they (the deceased) lived a life with a certain belief and I am trying to prove it is that person and they are not responding I may provoke. If it is something that seems mischievous or causing aggravation to the home/business owners, or it has been successful before, may lead me to provoke as well.

I do not believe that provoking something that is thought to be evil or that someone believes to be a certain person that lived a life that caused harm to others will lead to me being harmed. And if it did, then isn't that why I'm doing this? I want to be smacked, burned, or pushed. I have not had any experiences like this and would love to see it first hand. I do not feel bad for calling something names, not because I don't care, but no one knows what it is like on the others side, how many things that could be going on and maybe the provoking hits a nerve and makes them pay attention to us for a minuet "when we want them to".

This is just some of my thought, now what's yours?

I say go ahead. Obviously if the ghost is supposed to be a child, or someone who died under tragic circumstances then it may seem and very well be in bad taste. But if its supposed to be "evil" or a negative entity then bash away. I see provoking as a means to an end. Sometimes you have to push a bit to get a reaction in anyone, living or not.
